CAS PB floor scales. Probably the most successful model of scales from the Korean manufacturer CAS Corp — though it would be more apt to say the most popular. It is easier to name the fields where these floor scales are not used than to list endlessly what people buy them for: from weighing the body at home and in fitness centres to production and warehouses. A genuinely neat, compact design wrapped in a sturdy synthetic shell. Easy to carry. Dual-range weighing. An LCD display on an extension cord, neatly "hidden" by the designers in the handle. Add to that the proven, dependable CAS electronics inside. In short, CAS means reliable, well made and long lasting. There are three specifications. CAS PB-60 — handles weights up to 60 kg, with the first weighing range up to 30 kg. Hence two divisions: 10 grams up to 30 kg and 20 grams above 30 kg. CAS PB-150 — handles weights up to 150 kg, with the first range up to 60 kg. Two divisions: 20 grams up to 60 kg and 50 grams above 60 kg. CAS PB-200 — handles weights up to 200 kg, with the first range up to 150 kg. Two divisions: 50 grams up to 150 kg and 100 grams above 150 kg. The platform size is a non-standard 355x443 mm. Among the useful functions: working with unstable weight, (automatic) zeroing, tare weight subtraction and the very useful RS-232 function (the ability to connect the scales to a computer). The temperature range in which the CAS PB is guaranteed to work is -10 °C to +40 °C. And although in practice the scales can withstand more extreme temperatures, which is quite typical of CAS, it is still worth staying within the recommended limits — they will last longer. The CAS PB weighs 6 kilograms. It feels most unusual to be able to stroll along holding, in one hand, a scale that weighs loads up to 200 kg.
