The 40 x 25 mm thermal transfer self-adhesive label is intended for printing on label printers that use thermal transfer printing: Argox, Datecs, Godex, TSC, Zebra. A thermal transfer label is not suitable for retail scales with thermal label printing — "SHTRIH PRINT", CAS, Mettler-Toledo — those scales use a different type of label, for example a plain 30 x 20 thermal label. Thermal transfer printing differs from direct thermal printing. In direct thermal printing the label is "burned" by the printer's thermal head. In thermal transfer printing the dye is transferred from the ribbon onto the label by instantly heating the dye with the thermal head. In other words, "hot" ink is applied to the thermal transfer label and you get a self-adhesive label with a monochrome image for your product. Thermal transfer printing can be monochrome (one colour), unlike direct thermal printing. But besides the thermal transfer label it also needs a colouring material — a ribbon. On the one hand, thermal transfer printing costs more. But only with thermal transfer printing can you produce monochrome sticker labels for your goods without paying a printing house — you can print as many stickers as you need right now. They highlight promotional goods well. They are often used at presentations. Recently they have become popular in offices.
